Hello!!!!!
Elder Kunz coming at you from Lakewood Washington!!!! First off.... 2 months down! Only 22 to go! Also you will be proud to hear that me, Benjamin DeeOrr Kunz, in the last 3 weeks have had fish (salmon), hamburgers, and eggs!! Shocker right! I am eating food haha. Lakewood is a great place so much potential!!! We made return appointments with 71 people this week!! Just by knocking doors!!
Monday was my last day in forks and we went to some old WW2 bunkers in Port townsend and played captured the flag!!! It was a blast! I had soooo much fun!
Tuesday was transfer day!!! I also got a package from Jessica!!!!!!!!!!!! I was sooo happy! It was a Christmas package that had a bunch of candies and and snacks with scriptures on them, letters from her family, pictures of her family, and a way sweet black and red tie that I have worn twice already!! I met my new companions. Elder Aussef, Zastrow, and Stevens. Aussef and Zastrow are the Zone Leaders in Lakewood, I was in the MTC with Stevens. It has been quite interesting here in Lakewood! We knocked doors on Tuesday night in a place called Chocolate City A.K.A. Springbrook. Apparently it is a real dangerous part of town and we knock there all the time, I love it! We have met a lot of people there who want to hear more about the gospel! You will have to excuse this week because so much has happened that I do not even remember all of it and the Zone Leaders didn't tell me the schedule so I didn't bring my camera or my journal to help... So I am just going to share some of the crazy things that has happened.
Thursday night Elder Stevens got hit in the face with a cigarette that some old guy threw at him! It was hilarious! Me and Elder Aussef laughed so hard! the old guy felt really bad I think haha. Umm what else, oh an apartment complex caught on fire in Chocolate City and me and Elder Stevens were right there! Right before we got there a woman and her 2 year old child jumped from the second floor apartment window!! Through the window!!! Me and Elder Stevens heard her calling for help so we sprinted over there as fast as we could and we helped her into this apartment complex across the street. Then we sprinted to the front of the apartment complex and the fire was raging!!! We made sure everyone was okay and we made sure that people called the fire department, when everything was fine, we were on our way again spreading a great message!!!! We were on bikes for most of that day because the Zone Leaders had stuff to do in Tacoma. I have actually used my bike!
We met this little kid named Tony on Saturday. He is 10 years old and this kid is going to be baptized on the 18th!! His parents are atheist and they don't care if we teach him at all, we taught him the restoration of the gospel on Saturday, invited him to be baptized and he said he had to ask his mom first, then I invited him to church and he came!! Then at church we taught him the Plan of Salvation!! And this kid is so smart, he picked up on the lesson so fast!!! he memorized the 3 degrees of glory and it was amazing!! His mom said that he could be baptized as soon as we teach him about baptism!! Which we are doing tomorrow!!! We are going to baptize him on Sunday the 18th!!! He really wants to be baptized and I am so excited for it!! We had a baptism yesterday! That was strange because she wanted all of the missionaries in the water... there were 8 people in the font... I will have Stevens send me a picture and you will all see!! It was unusual.
Well that is all of my stories that I have off the top of my mind. Oh and we have 4 people on date to be baptized on the 18th!!! Joseph and Susan, Alvino, and Tony. I am so happy and so excited for them!! I love you all so much!! My family and my family Ward. You keep me going when times get rough!! I always think to you guys for strength as much as possible! I thank Heavenly Father for the support, the love, and the strength I receive from you guys!!! I love you sooooo much!! Thank you for making me who I am today!!!!!!
With Much Love,
Elder Kunz
